31/365: Feeding duckies

"Always behave like a duck - keep calm and unruffled on the surface
but paddle like the devil underneath."
(Jacob Braude)

My best friend saw about 20 ducks on the river behind our buildings while taking her dog out in the morning and we decided to go feed them in the afternoon.
Wild animals (especially birds) don't have enough food this winter so help if you can.

30/365: Sick

"I used to think that the brain was the most wonderful organ in my body.
Then I realized who was telling me this."
(Emo Phillips)

Haven't been feeling well lately and it is starting to show...
especially on my lips, which you can't tell (except for the corner)
as I applied honey all over them to make the photo less gross :(

29/365: Kriváň

"It is not the mountain we conquer but ourselves."
(Edmund Hillary)

Not bad for a photo taken from a car at 100+km/h, or? :)
(that's why the highway at the bottom...)

28/365: Sunny Weekend

It is still -20°C outside, but the blue sky and sunshine make up for it a little :)
Happy weekend, everyone.

27/365: Ice Cave

Lookie what I found in the garten :) Looks like a tiny ice cave, right? :D
Mother nature, you never fail to surprise me ♥

26/365: Dried-up

"When a rose dies, a thorn is left behind."
(Publius Ovidius Naso)

I feel like this rose these days. Dried-up. Winter be gone soon, please.

25/365: Berry Sweet

Strawberries in January? That's a little odd...
They don't taste nearly as good as the ones we grow in our garten during the summer time each year.

24/365: I Need A Sword!

"Beneath the rule of men entirely great,
The pen is mightier than the sword."
(Edward Bulwer-Lytton)

I don't need a sword as I already have one (see photo, heh), but I surely need to practice more!
And I finally made progress in Brisingr (see photo again)!!! Judging by the title of the chapter I guess I might finally enjoy reading this book, which is taking me 3 freaking years to finish!!! o.O

More on the story later if when I finish reading the whole book ;)

23/365: A Glimpse Of Blue Sky

"Artists can color the sky red because they know it's blue. Those of us who aren't artists must color things the way they really are or people might think we're stupid."
(Jules Feiffer)

We rarely see blue sky around my area these days because of all the snowing,
so this has to be the photo of the day.

22/365: Buried Under

I don't know what will happen if it won't stop snowing.
We can barely move around these days :/
Like where did our garten go? o.O

21/365: 1st sunrise of 2012

Woke up at 7am to go grocery shopping with dad :)
I have a habit of waking up pretty late during school break,
so 7am felt like the middle of the night for the first 10 minutes :D
Managed to take this photo from our car shortly after we left.

20/365: I Remember

"I like trees because they seem more resigned to the way they have to live than other things do."
(Willa Cather)

I used to climb up this apple tree a lot as a child.
Now it looks fragile, so naked without leaves and fruit...
but it still is a tousand times stronger than I am :)

19/365: Frozen Solid

♬ The earth was frozen,
ice upon the water,
all at once you saw her,
there in the winter light.
 (Tim Finn - Winter Light)

Here is the actual song I took lyrics from, enjoy :)

18/365: The Ugly Side Of Winter

"A lot of people like snow. I find it to be an unnecessary freezing of water."
(Carl Reiner)

This quote is exactly how I feel about snow today.
Our family is on duty this week (when it comes to the snow around our building) and since mom and dad are working, and Peter is useless as always, I am the one who has to deal with it, bu :(

17/365: Guess What I Got

"Happiness is a perfume which you cannot pour on someone without getting some on yourself."
(Ralph Waldo Emerson)

My first perfume ever! *happy happy*
Yes, it is possible for a girl to live without one for 24+ years :P

16/365: Frozen River

"These days grief seems like walking on a frozen river;
most of the time he feels safe enough,
but there is always that danger he will plunge through."
(David Nicholls, One Day)

15/365: A Booklover's Best Friend ♥

"Books have the same enemies as people:
fire, humidity, animals, weather, and their own content."
(Paul Valery)

I this photo so much! Good job, Lucy! *gives herself a pat on the back*
Crossing my fingers for more creative days like this :)

14/365: At The Bottom Of A Teapot

"Strange how a teapot can represent at the same time the comforts of solitude
and the pleasures of company."
(Author Unknown)

Today's photo is a result of what happens when I'm having a lazy day at home. Suddenly it's almost midnight and I realize I haven't taken any photos for Project 365! *panic* I pretty much just took a photo of what I was holding in my hands in that very moment, hoping it would turn out to be P365 material. *phew* Today wasn't the first nor the last time it happened...

Btw. this is Geisha, my favorite tea this month :)

13/365: Snow

"There is always some madness in love. But there is also always some reason in madness."
(Friedrich Nietzsche)

It has been snowing like crazy today! 10cm/hour or more o.O
My hometown pretty much looks like North Pole now!

Also, my digital camera takes crapy photos of snow, so I had to edit the exposure A LOT for the letters to show, so yeah... sorry if it looks ugly to you.

And before I forget:
Happy 15 months,darling. I wuw you!

12/365: Tiny hedgies on the tree!?

"The trees that are slow to grow bear the best fruit."

Does anyone know what these are?
This tree grows near my apartment but I have never noticed those thingies before.
They look like little hedgies to me :)

11/365: Detail

"We think in generalities, but we live in detail."
(Alfred North Whitehead)

Tuesday, January 10, 2012

10/365: Lychee

"The tree is known by his fruit."
(Bible, Matthew xii. 33.)

We found these in the fruit section during grocery shopping today and J. had no idea that something like lychee exists, so I had to buy a few for him to try :)

9/365: Christmas season is officially over.

"Do not cut down the tree that gives you shade."
(Persian Proverb)

It's so sad to see what happens to all the pretty Christmas trees after the holiday season is over.

8/365: Where are you, sun?

"One kind word can warm three winter months."
(Japanese proverb)

I don't know why people like winter so much...
I need sunshine! Badly! Just like a flower, I can't live without it :(

Saturday, January 7, 2012

7/365: Rose

"You can complain because roses have thorns,
or you can rejoice because thorns have roses."

Friday, January 6, 2012

6/365: Unconditional Love

"We call them dumb animals, and so they are, for they cannot tell us how they feel, but they do not suffer less because they have no words."
(Anna Sewell)

I LOVE this quote ♥ So true, right?

...and so my bunny fell in love with the neighbour's cat...
Who would have thought :)

5/365: Rose Bath

"There is no need to go to India or anywhere else to find peace. You will find that deep place of silence right in your room, your garden or even your bathtub."
(Elisabeth Kubler-Ross)

4/365: Tea Time

"If you are cold, tea will warm you.
If you are too heated, it will cool you.
If you are depressed it will cheer you.
If you are excited, it will calm you."
(Gladstone, 1865)

3/365: Waiting

"The person who is waiting for something to turn up might start with their shirt sleeves."
(Garth Henrichs)

2/365: Winter

"Winter is on my head, but eternal spring is in my heart."
(Victor Hugo)

1/365: Happy New Year

Day 1/365

"An optimist stays up to see the New Year in.
A pessimist waits to make sure the old one leaves."
(Bill Vaughan)

Which one are you? :)

Formula of Peace 3.0

Happy New Year!

and also

Happy birthday, blog no.3!

Closing therealityiaccept.blogspot.com felt like the best thing I ever did. Or so I thought back then...
I stopped writing, but I never stopped reading.

I have been reading a lot of blogs lately (finally have the time to, yay), and I have realized that reading isn't enough for me... I miss writing! So so soooo much! There I said it.

I can't stay away from blogging, can I? :)

I also want to give P365 and all my other projects another try, so let's see how that goes :)

Do tretice všetko dobré.
*crossing fingers*
